Hello!

I am trying to install Windows on my Mac using bootcamp. Whenever I launch bootcamp I get this error: The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows.

Disk Utility shows my HD as being a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) drive, but apparently Bootcamp doesn't agree.

What should I do? Thanks!

I am running OS X Lion on a Macbook

This is the PITA that is Boot Camp. Very limited information on why it can't do what it ought to be able to do. Are you really sure you need to run Windows this way? You could do it in a VM for free using Virtual Box and not get involved in resizing the Mac OS volume, and rebooting between environments. But if you insist. Go to terminal, type the following commands, post the results here, but please format them using the code tags (highlight the pasted text, and click on the # button in the toolbar.)

Code:
diskutil list

Code:
diskutil resizevolume /dev/disk0s2 limits

Code:
sudo fdisk /dev/disk0
