pair the remote?
you'll have to use 2 remotes, one for each aTV. I'd label them, just to make it less confusing.
when pairing you'll probably want to unplug the other one or at least cover the IR sensor just to make it easier.
in addition to using the menu, you can also press menu and next at the same time for about 5 seconds.

it is possible you have 2 remotes with the same ID, in that case on
one of the remotes, press menu and center for 5-10 seconds to change the ID of the one remote.
you'll have to re-pair one of the appleTVs after you do this to make it look at the new ID.
