How do I get Wikipedia to revert to launching in mobile view automatically?

There should be a "mobile view" link at the bottom of most pages.

One of mobile safaris weakness.

Just use atomic web browser. In settings. Set as identify browser as "desktop safari/desktop Firefox/Internet explorer"

Done

iOS is app centric, hence the Wikipedia app.

Just another example of how the iPhone "just works."

This would be the simplest way.

The "Clear Cookies and Data" option should do it.

The only downside is that cookies for other sites will be lost, meaning that you'll need to log in again to some pages etc.

It shouldn't make too much difference.

Clear your browser's data. That is the solution. Or download the free Wikipedia app. Both have been suggested already. I use the Wikipedia app, personally.
