I try to recalibrate mine once in a while...but not as often as I would like to do it.

Bought it in September, 2011.
Almost every night I disconnect it and try to drain it till less than 20%.

So you mean, that if I'd work somewhere where I can't have charger, I'd do something very harmful for it?

What are you, 14? The battery only lasts for a certain number of cycles. It's great to use it on battery power for a while every day, but there is no need to drain it the way you're doing. The only thing that will amount to is a battery that will hold less of a charge once you actually need to use it where you have no charger, and in the end having to switch the battery out faster than if you would maintain the battery properly.

As I said, you should read Apple's battery guide. But instead you chose to be an ****** about it, why?

Because I just hate people which pretends that they are some genius + chats *****. I can't stand them. And yes, you're not exception.
My brother has the same Macbook which I have, and now his battery lasts just 1hour when mine lasts 3hours on the same specs brightness etc. Guess why? Because all that time he been holding it on charger. Just 2-3 times drained battery.
Good luck man, I'm not responding to your next dumb pretending being a genius. :apple:

So your brother's Macbook Pro, bought less than eight months ago, only keeps a one hour charge when using it the same way that your identical computer lasts for three hours? That discrepancy isn't due to him not unplugging the computer. Unless you're lying, he most definitely can go get it replaced for free.

I'm not saying keeping it plugged in is better than draining the battery every day, what I'm (an Apple is) saying is that you shouldn't drain the battery when you don't need to because it will shorten its life.

If I'm pretending to be a genius, you're proving to be the complete opposite.

It's served me well over the years, but the battery is dying now and it is really showing it's age running lion. I just wish i had the money for a new MacBook air

Here's my four year old macbook pro. It probably lasts 1:30 even with no programs open except for vim. I should probably recalibrate but since I'm on the go a lot the battery runs down and I charge at home anyways, so maybe this is accurate enough.

Mine's from last November. I usually drain the battery to 60% on weekdays, then plug it in, as that's when I get home.
On the weekends I use the battery completely until the computer goes to sleep.

new winner!

I propose we multiply the cycles by health to calculate the "battery score"
that gives me: 0,92*1539 = 1416
