9to5mac.com is reporting that some Apple stores with low black iPhone 4 inventory will be swapping them for 4S units (if they have some sort of an issue). See http://9to5mac.com/2012/04/14/apple...e-iphone-4-models-with-4s-due-to-constraints/

Have you had your black iPhone 4 swapped for a 4S? Were you at an Apple store? Or carrier store? What store in what city/state?

Did you swap an AT&T or Verizon iPhone 4 for a 4s?

Were you in warranty or not? Did you pay the $149 replacement fee?

Did the Apple Store genius tell you you would be getting a 4S before you handed over your cash/credit card? Has anyone called any stores to see if they will release this information over the phone?

Any other relevant details?

Let us know!

All the news I read about this issue states that it's for the 16GB models.. where's the love for the 32GB? :[

My sleep/wake button has been screwed for a while, and I'd love to get mine swapped. I might try this out this weekend.

Because 16GB models sell the most, stock for that size depletes the fastest...

I know haha, I'm just being selfish :p Doesn't seem like they're running low on the 32GB white iPhone 4's. I might call from time to time just to see if they are.. definitely wouldn't mind an upgrade to the 4S

^Which I do have the iPhone 4 16gb Black GSM (AT&T) version. Out of warranty, willing to pay $200 for a replacement if it's the iPhone 4S since I have a broken glass screen + the annoying yellow glue on the screen.

Went to the store yesterday and walked out with an iPhone 4 only :/ Paid $149 to replace the broken screen. Oh well. Worth a shot.

Now my question is warranty, is it 90 days or I'm still out of warranty? My phone was originally bought on 06/24/2010 (launch day) and since my phone is unlocked by AT&T (previous iPhone), is my replacement unlocked also?

Which location did you go? Has anyone been successful at getting 4s?

I recently had my my iPhone 4 replaced. I had 4 days left of warranty and they gave me a new one with a 90 day warranty. My replacement was unlocked too. AT&T had unlocked it for me two weeks earlier.

The carrier lock carries over. So if the orignal was unlocked it would carry over. The system they uses makes things easier. I could litterally have an O2 Uk locked iPhone replaced in the US and it would be locked to O2 UK still.
