I found somewhere online that you can jailbreak an iOS 5.1 update to iPod touch 4G and download Siri. is this true, because that would be really cool to have Siri and iOS 5.1. That brings up another question though, how do you jailbreak something??? I am totally new to this stuff so I am clueless :D

Hey

I tries SO many siri ports but they like never ever worked for me and it made my ipod really really slow. I dont thing its worth it until theres a really good one made

Jailbreaking is pretty simple. Theres 2 types, a tether and a untether

Tether: this type is just as good as a untether expect for 1 minor catch, everytime you restart your ipod after a download from cydia, you have to reconnect ipod to redsn0w(program that you use to jb) and reboot it. It saves all your hacks and tweaks but safari, mail, cydia wont work until you do that.

Untether: is a type where once you jb thats all. You dont have to reconnect to a computer or anything and all the work is done on the ipod:D

So far 5.1 has olny a tether jb(i dont recomend) because a person named pod2g made 5.0.1 jb is working on a 5.1.1 so i suggest you wait for that. I check his blog daily to see how he is coming along, his blog is http://pod2g-ios.blogspot.com/

If you really want to get a 5.1 tether just google redsn0w and get the latest version and the steps are on the program. If you need any other help email mohammadkm95@yahoo.com

I found a website that says "download iOS 5.1" and i looked it up and found that you get Siri on that, so I have this page bookmarked: http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/15887/ and the Siri port download too: http://www.ios5jailbreak.org/install-siri-on-ios-5-1.html but are these sufficient? I will look at the websites you listed...

----------

I think I really want untethered because it seems kinda useless if you have to waste the time to plug it back up and everything. but if they dont have an untethered version yet, i will either wait, or not get it at all. idk i will research it more later. this summer i have nothing better to do :D

It can be done, but keep it mind it isn't quite identical. You may be disappointed with the quality.

Well, it can be done, but it requires access to an iPhone 4S every 24 hours to get the code that changes every 24 hours. Not worth it, even if someone in your immediate family had one.
