One of the ( few ) things I miss that I used to have when I used a PC was a simple train ( railroad ) simulator. Used to be able to fill in the odd hour designing layouts and the like. Programmes like "Create your own model railroad' used to cost just about the same as the disc they came on.....

Any suggestions for a similar thing on the Mac ?

Remember you can run Windows software using Parallels, VMWare, or VirtualBox. All you need is a copy of Windows to install, then you have a fully-functional Windows installation.

Parallels and VMWare aren't free, but have the best gaming support. VirtualBox is free and does a damn fine job of most everything.

There is one on the Mac App Store, search for 'Trainz'.

Or did you mean something more like 'Cities in Motion' or a Railroad Tycoon game?

Thanks for that

I did find Trainz after I posted, but it's not exactly what I want.

I'll keep looking, and can always load the PC version in an emulator but that seems a bit of a waste.
