I am having trouble with the phone and need to do a restore.
How to I ensure that all my contacts and pictures are not lost.
I have done a backup on my laptop but how do I confirm that those items are indeed on my laptop.
The only thing I can physically see is all my apps.
I am very concerned with:
contacts
pics
calender

Thanks.

If you make a backup on iTunes, and later restore it from backup, it will retain your information.

Of course the issue is you are restoring because you have a software bug, then restoring it from backup may re-instroduce said bugs.

If you are not going to restore from backup, you can sync your contacts and calendar to iCloud. Then perhaps transfer your photos to your computer.

Yes, sync with iCloud or gmail
Exchange just to be sure.

O

This is exactly what I intend to do.
I just wish I could 'see' the backed up info somewhere as I am petrified that I am going to lose something.

I don't have gmail but I have synced with icloud.
The phone says I have synced with I cloud, but I do not see how that is possible as I only have the free 5 gig and my phone has at least 10 of memory used up with apps and photos.
