I submitted a new App first attempt June 29.
Got rejected because of the name July 10.
Last upload the same day and still waiting.

Now more than ever, we have to be extra carefull with submission/update because it could be really a business breaker to have to wait one month to replace a crappy version...

I'm really glad to see a new App Store business/marketing place.

These were all 3 updates. I think it takes way to long for an update..
(That's why I love submitting apps to Android, no BS, just bam, live, but I know this review process takes down the virusses and really really crap apps).
The time it takes these days to upload a new app, get an update reviewed is just off the shorts, we used to tell clients from 3 days (if you are lucky), but these times you have to aim at 10-15 days at least.

I think people aught to be mentioning whether their apps are iOS or Mac.

I submitted an update to my Mac app Battery Status on the 14th. It's been 8 days. I'm waiting for review. I'm hoping it'll be released about the same time as Apple releases Mountain Lion.

Edit:

10 days now... the only word I've heard from Apple is that ML will go on sale tomorrow. I'm getting quite annoyed now...

2X Edit:

14 days and counting. Still no word from Apple. I'm getting grossly dissatisfied with Apple and am strongly considering using other app stores rather than the Mac App Store.

Either I'm born under a bad sign or Apple is really busy with something other than the Mac App Store.

24 days Waiting for Review...

I think new developers (my case) and new apps (also my case) must take longer than updates.

I have an app submitted and accepted
Date Created Sep 11, 2012
Date Released Sep 18, 2012

Which is okay, because the launch date is 1 October..
Submitted an really important update before launch which is critical.
Date Created Sep 23, 2012
But still waiting for acceptance, let's hope that get's accepted before the launch on 1 october..
I think for updates they should have a much higher rate, specially if it's minimal changes.
They are making billions, how hard is it to hire more reviewers.. I don't get it.

Recently Approved

I submitted my most recent app, NextWord, on 10/10/12 and it was 'Ready for Sale' on 10/19/12.

It was initially rejected on 10/19/12 due to invalid metadata. But, upon reviewing the notes in the Resolution Center, the reviewer had a simple question about my in-app purchases. The confusing part was that upon reviewing the metadata section that was flagged as REJECTED, it identified both of my in-app purchases as needing developer action, but didn't specify the type of action.

Upon calling Apple Support, they indicated that reviewers often reject due to Invalid Metadata when they have a question for the developer, but that is very confusing.

I think Apple should come up with a new status that specifically indicates that more information is is needed.
