adobe cs6 programs would fall excellently under the last category you have there. UI is a bit blurry, but much of the text is excellent.

I'll go into more detail (what programs look best) if you want.

I disagree! Text is fuzzy and not sharp at all!
Not only UI-Items even the text in the documents is not sharp...
I hope they will update it as soon as possible!

Here's the proof:

All of the Adobe apps (current version) look horrible on the Retina display, none have been updated. Lightroom and Photoshop both use pixel-doubling for photos, InDesign does too, and text in Dreamweaver looks just as bad, as well.

I think Adobe will update the whole lineup across the board at some point, but we may have to wait until September or October before we see anything.

I am really looking forward to Photoshop and Lightroom being updated, it will be nice to edit high resolution photos at their native resolution, taking advantage of the full 2880x1800 pixel field, and working 1:1 at the Retina's native res.

Not all of them, mate.

I'll go into more detail as I said. Edit: since I'm waiting for Diablo III to download, I'll post screenshots of the below programs (the ones I have) for you to see.

Is FileMaker Pro 12 ready for retina display in RMBP? My understanding is that it's good with retina display in iPad and iPhone.

Answer: No.

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion, and FileMaker Pro 12.0v2 now has much clearer text, etc.

Quite strange, but I'm happy about this since I use this program a lot. Mountain Lion upgrade did not affect MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, etc. for whatever it's worth.

Anyone else having issues with Chrome Canary on their rMBP? I'm having a problem where the screen flashes/flickers whenever you move the mouse around, scroll, or resize the window.

Anyone hear anything about an update for Amazon's Kindle Reader? I can tolerate most non-retina apps for being ugly... but purely text based ones are horrible, especially since I'm using it to catch back up on some programming languages I had forgotten.

It will be much later than that. I doubt we'll even get a beta version of just photoshop before october, let alone the final version of all of them.

That's what I find disappointing. I'm at a fork in the road between going with Aperture or LR4. If Adobe will take their time updating their application for rMBP, then I may be 'forced' into going with another solution. However, this may be a great time to try out a new piece of software :)

The next update will support the Retina resolution. For now, use the Cloud Reader in Canary to read your docs in Retina res.

Correct, won't be updating it. Please feel free to create a new one--I was hoping someone would continue it somehow...

G'luck!

Okay it's not an app exactly but "just" a web based editor. And since there isn't much going on in this thread…

Folks at WordPress.com (Wikipedia) have updated 90 % of the graphical elements in their online editor to retina resolution. Looks pretty good and they are really fast—even faster than the vBulletin forum software (used by MacRumors) devs.

(Cropped and resized screenshot) Safari w WP.com editor:

wordpresseditorretinasm.png

(Click here for the same screenshot in original resolution 1,606 x 1,586 of my rMBP.)

And the best thing is: When you upload bitmap images double the size to your WP.com hosted blog the readers of the blog will have them displayed crisp sharp as well (except the header image for the time being) on Retina displays. There is some discussion on that topic @ WP.com forum where I (aka rossau) described how easy it is to accomplish. When you do that your WP.com blogs will show up pretty Retina ready.

Sorry for being slightly off-topic.

AirAttack is retina ready, when you start up the app, set the resolution to 2880 by 1800, you will get a weird looking UI, just Command+F to switch to windowed mode, than Command+F to switch back and tada, you are looking at gorgeous retina graphics.

I've had confirmation via Twitter that a SkipTunes Retina update is awaiting approval on the App Store.

When will Pixelmator 2.1 be ready? They have been taunting us for weeks, but still we have no word on when it will be released.

MindNode Pro

I just got this app from the App Store and everything on it looks crisp. It's a mind mapping app. There's no mention of Retina support in the App's description.
