The sim card was credit-card sized and the whole thing slid in the bottom (oo-er!).

I also remember a mate asking if I'd got his text message from a few days earlier. That was when I learnt what the little letter icon was about!

I actually had the Korean version (Anycall). Compared to the extra large phones everyone else had, this thing was relatively tiny; more like a toy than anything else.

Loved this thing TO DEATH! It was great! Got it in 6th grade. It was absolutely amazing. Sadly one day the phone just stopped working. I miss it so much!

Then I got this thing...and let's just say my feelings were 100% in the opposite direction:

and now I'm on my 3rd phone, the iPhone 4S!

I guess I consider that my first phone, lol.

Is that a handle to get it out of your pocket with?

I think this was my model, it looked like this one. Except mine said Cingular on it. It also came with a goofy looking rubber skin that wrapped around it. Had a built-in FM radio and allowed text messaging, before they started charging for it.

This was my first phone, only it was AT&T. Until I got my iPhone, it stood as my favorite phone for 8 years.

And to think... it wasn't even that long ago. I was probably 12 so, what, 10 years ago? Technology's progression rate amazes me.

This little baby. I still have it, in original box with all original paperwork. Still works like a charm. I just wanted one that did more than place calls.

It looked like this one. It was on airtouch cellular in SoCal

My father had that exact same one. With the goofy wooden faceplate as well! He later swapped it with the clear see-through faceplate.

I got my first cell phone in 2000. Surprisingly, it's still my favorite phone to date. I miss simplicity.

Samsung SCH3500. I believe I got it in 2000. Went through a couple due to earpiece going out. I still really liked the phone though.

1st was a Motorola 1993 or '94 model. It was about the size of a brick over half of it was battery. If you got the extended battery it was about another 1" thicker shaped pyramid like, t'was lovely.
So i had the cell phone and my best friend had his pager. Together we were the chit!!

My first phone, which I have bought in may 2011. I waited until college to buy a cell phone, and had gotten this for free with a very good contract. I kept throwing it on the ground for fun and it has never gotten one scratch, until one night, a month ago, when I accidentally dropped it on the street. Display broke

(But I hated this thing software-wise, and I have to admit that I wasn't disappointed at all :p)
