I'm actually at the Apple store right now returning my 11 inch MBA ultimate and considering the 13 inch ultimate but I'm understanding they come with Toshiba SSD's ?? True? I understand the read/write on TS is far worse than Samsung according to just about every online review.

Appreciate feedback

Thanks

From my understanding, only the 128 and possibly 64 are made by toshiba. The 256 and 512 are samsung only afaik.

From what I've read, the 2011 MBAs with Toshiba SSDs (TS128A) were slower than the Samsung ones.

The 2012 MBAs with Toshiba SSDs (TS128E) are just as fast as the Samsung ones.

The benchmark posted is poor as it doesn't use compressible data. This is where the Samsung is faster. Assuming you don't encrypt your drive the Toshiba will be as fast.
