I have a Black macbook. I want to get a new external hard drive but want to know first if I have USB 3.0 ports on my computer so that I can decide on the best drive to get (i.e. if paying more for USB 3.0 will be worth it or not). How can I tell with Mac OS X? I have Lion.

I'm 89% sure that all Macs with Intel processors use 2.0 or 3.0 ports. 1.0 died with the G4
It's fun making jokes that fly over some peoples head Off to check if my Commodore PET, Sharp MZ-80 or Sinclair ZX80 have any USB ports...
Getting there. Mine is four and a half years old.
Still works great, and was my primary computer until a couple of months ago. Still have it; it's in reserve now.
If you don't realize that you're blatantly trying to sound superior I don't know what to tell you.
