just installed the update 1 minute ago and already noticed hot corners stopped working, as well as the brightness down keyboard shortcut that I assigned via better touch tools, and using through synergy on my windows desktop keyboard. The brightness up keyboard shortcut still works perfectly fine though.

Never tried NovaBench but...

I just quickly ran NovaBench and here is the result. Quite improvement for a 7MB download. I'm hoping that others are seeing same improvements :)

I tried it now after installed 10.8.1 and it screams =)

Anyone else get the message:

"OS X 10.8 is already installed"

And instead of downloading 10.8.1 it's downloading 10.8.0, all 4GB's of it.

You have a Mountain Lion installer somewhere on your disk, and it's updating that to 10.8.1.

I finished downloading the mysterious 4.34Gb 10.8.1 update (I had already installed the much smaller update and was running 10.8.1) and, after that, the update list is empty. I'm pretty sure that it only updates the ML installer (that you downloaded from Apple Store when ML came out and that you still have in your HDD) to 10.8.1. Mystery solved! :)

I will evidently run the update, although I'm hardly impressed by the list of addressed issues.

Smb

In every release Apple have SMB problems. Why not use the open source samba and stop trying to make there own.

The performance on SMB shares are very bad.
In my Linux server samba share can get around 100 mb/s on (windows and Linux) and on mac around 20 mb/s lol. In 10.6 i have the same problem. Not solved and i guess never will.

When Apple release a major version they forget the previous version.. Microsoft and Linux distributions don't do that!

Can't you just hold down 'Option' in the file menu to change 'Duplicate' to 'Save As...' ?

You can, but it does the same thing, it just gives you what looks like a classic 'Save As' box. Still overwrites the original though. Beyond stupid.

Which Mac is that?
How come my 3d fps is 55 and yours is only 40?
Especially when you have a more powerful cpu.
Wish I would've done that before 10.8.1 to see if it improved any.
Also my drive write speed seems awfully slow.

Anyways, no problem so far with 10.8.1.
Didn't have any problems with the release of Mountain Lion, including battery life, so not sure if much will change.
