Verizon iPhone 5 Preorder Status Thread

My credit card (Visa) now has a pending charge for the full amount. I'm happy to see it (I don't think I've ever said that before), but now I'm nervous that it'll trigger a fraud alert and push back the ship date :(

If it's already pending I wouldn't worry about it. Usually if it is going to trigger a fraud alert they either block the charge from happening or call you ASAP so if you haven't gotten a call you're fine. It's not like they call the next day and go "oh yeah by the way we think there was fraudulent activity on your account" they take care of it ASAP

GAH! Mine was an Amazon Chase Visa! Keeping my fingers crossed... Don't know if it's worthwhile to call the credit card company to let them know the charge is legit. I hope Frasern1 is right.

I can confirm that you can do this, I got in writing confirmation that you can call in and port a # to your account at anytime for no fee. I plan on evaluating the Verizon service for the first 14 days, and I'll keep it if I like it. This is what they told me over email with a local sales rep:

If you decide to keep the service (14 day return policy), you can at any time do a TNC port and bring over number(s) from the competition. It can all be done by phone using an automated IVR…you will just need to account number and billing password.

My status changed about an hour and a half ago to show my order has been sent for processing. It's exciting to see some movement. I feel like a 6 year old 4 days before Christmas.

Me too! I used my Amazon card, and after hearing all these horror stories about Chase declining the charges, I think I'm going to have to give them a call. :eek:
 
This has gone from annoying to upsetting. I spoke to Verizon and they said my card cancelled the order. I called my card and they say Verizon made two charges thus one was denied and the other is fine to go through. time to call Verizon again...

If you are worried call them and let them know but they will probably say it is fine. Call them though if it makes you feel better. And that way you won't get mad if it gets marked as fraud and come find me or something lol
 
My debit card was charged by Verizon this afternoon. So there is action being taken. I'm sure it will work it's way around to everyone.

Mine that was cancelled was the Amazon Visa

so im kinda freaking out.....my card has been charged the full amount for the 16gb black and slate iPhone yet it still says order sent for processing! and it says expected SHIP date of 9/21/12 im worried it wont be delivered on the 21st i ordere mine at 12:07 what do you think will happen!!!!????
 
I got a call from Barclay asking if my $915 charge was authorized or not (out of contract 64GB). I said it was so all is well.

Calm down. Your phone will arrive on the 21st. You should get a tracking notification tonight/tomorrow most likely. Maybe even as late as Wednesday.

you will be fine. That is just the wording on the verizon status page.
 
ugh.... my arrival date changed from 9/21 to 10/5.... I called to ask why and they said my payment didn't go through..... i have enough money in there for 4 phones.... WHAT IS GOING ON! i'm not one to get mad, but this really makes me furious...

I spoke to a generic Verizon rep first and she said to try their "Internet department" at 866-338-7390. The guy I got at that number seemed to know what he was talking about. It was a short wait the first time, now I've been on hold 8 minutes this call.

Might want to go check your status. I bet your shipping date has slipped because they couldn't charge the card right way.
 
I noticed my delivery date just changed to 10/5 so I called and cried. Literally I cried to the CSR and then asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor apologized after seeing that I ordered at 3:08am EST and offered to credit my account $50 to keep the 10/5 delivery date. We chatted back and forth about the Redskins and how RG3 is at least exciting to watch, but ultimately we are not very optimistic about winning a lot of games.

Then the conversation turned back to the iPhone and the supervisor again mentioned the $50 credit. At that point I cried again and I said things like "OMG and FML" and "Please oh GOD PLEASE...I NEED my iPhone 5 on Friday or else I don't know what I'll do"! Then the supervisor said "OH sir...I'm so sorry, I didn't know you needed it so badly. In that case I will make sure I get your order priority changed". He switched it back and while I was on the phone with him I could already see that it now said 9/21 for delivery. I peed a little in excitement but before the supervisor let me go he said "Just so you know, You won't get it on the 21st...it will be at your house on the 20th".

That's when I hung up the phone and ran a 5k I was SO excited!!! OMG...OMG OMG!!!!
 
Unreal!!! My Delta Reserve Amex declined the charge!!! Now I've been put off to 10/5. Both Amex and Verizon are blaming each other! Can't believe I got up at 2:30 to deal with this crap

:p I went ahead and called the Amazon Chase people just to give me some peace of mind. She told me the charge has already been approved. There would have been no hard feelings anyway! There are worse things that could happen :)
