Im re-downloading mountain lion to do a clean install after purchasing it. But I'm shocked by the time estimate shown for the download. Now it's been about 10 hours since I started downloading. Still it says "22 hours and 18 minutes remaining".

iOS 6 and OS X 10.8.2 were both released today. The servers are receiving more traffic than usual, so your download speeds will be slower as a result.

maybe it's your connection? I downloaded ML 10.8.1 yesterday in 15 minutes approx 4gb iirc.

Hey when you downloaded Mountain Lion did it fail the first time when you tried downloading and you had to click on Install again? Cause mine started installing then it went back to the first page and I had to accept the terms and agreements again.

I'm having the same issue, except trying to download the 10.8.2 update. It's crawling.

Yeah the download took a while but I got it! I have noticed a slight speed difference and hopefully the freezing is gone!!

Amazes me that a company that has put so much money into data centers can't provide a download speed more than about 2MB a minute. My connection is rated, and consistently tests, at 20 Mbps yet EVERY time I download something from Apple, it runs at about 0.2 Mbps, if that. An old adage comes to mind, where there is smoke, there is fire and I think it's time Apple investigates this issue.
