Good areas to live at in San Francisco

We've got afew apartments that we saw on craigslist and other sites that we are going to take a look at two weeks from now. This is going to have to be one of those things where we look every day for one and grab the next best one as soon as it hits the market.
Those places won't be there two weeks from now, but good idea to look and get an idea of bang for your buck in various locations.
Just wanted to update this thread. So being that we didn't have enough time to look for an apartment; we stayed at a hotel for 3 weeks. We decided to start looking for apartments in the peninsula. We found a studio apartment in daly city that let us do a 6 month lease. After our lease is done we'll be looking to get into the city.
