Can anyone tell me why audiobooks on iTunes and everywhere else for that matter are twice as expensive as books?? Let's face it, from a source like iTunes, the transmission costs basically nothing. I just don't understand it.

Well you have the production costs - pay the voice actor, pay the recording techies, pay the producer. After that its pretty much the cost of the hosting.

At the end of the day, they are making a nice profit margin on each cd, and people seem willing to pay it (or the price would drop), so they wont drop the price until sales drop.
