I've decided to start a thread dedicated to keeping a list of contact information for sites that review apps for developers to use in their promotion efforts. As a base, I used the Excel document I created when I was doing this for my own app. You can find the link to it here:

http://www.overnightbuses.com/personal.html

Direct download

Right now it's an Excel document, which most people should be able to open one way or another.

I'd like to keep it updated, but as we only release a new issue quarterly I don't keep it open on a daily basis. If you decide to use it, please let me know if any contact information changes or if any sites go dark. I'd be happy to release a new file every so often so people are always up-to-date. Right now it could use a little clean-up. You can use this thread to announce updates, send me a PM, or use the email address on my site.

I want to start adding in tech blogs and other websites that announce new apps or companies, so if anyone has a list they have used, please contribute it. I will add in the ones we contact as well. Please don't include websites that do not announce apps. If a website or blog only operates in one language, please note that.

Lastly, welcome to all the indie developers out there. Its great to have a forum for ourselves, so lets make it a good one. Good luck with all your promotion efforts.

Nice idea! Thanks for including AppShopper there. ;)

A couple of notes:
  • I'd suggest adding TouchArcade.com to the games-only section. It's another (excellent, if I may say so myself) site in the MacRumors family and their submission info is here: http://toucharcade.com/about/
  • AppShopper has its own Twitter account (I rarely tweet my posts via my own account though AppShopper is set up to auto-tweet all reviews posted).

Semi-shameless plug: I would recommend that any developer looking to have their app reviewed by any site read this list of tips to improve your chances of getting a review. Snark aside, the tips there are really intended to help you.

Thanks Marianne! I'll change your info in the next version. That's a great post by the way.

I forgot about TouchArcade. The entire games-only section needs a bit of work because my app isn't a game and I skipped games-only sites when I was collecting the data for my own use. I'll try add in the major ones this weekend.

Also, if the Mac App Store developers here are interested, I can start collecting sites that review only Mac Apps in a separate section.

Updated the file this morning. Mostly cleaning up. Verified that sites are still there, moved a bunch of them to the defunct list if they didn't seem to be posting new reviews. Added in TouchArcade.

Ty for this, it's great!
Maybe you can put 1-5 star for every site or sort by most popular?
