So i dropped a rather large weight on my iPhone tonight... Dented massively and wont work...

I don't have insurance so break the news to me and tell me my options please :)

I'm based in the UK, bought it on debit card and have had it since the launch date.

Thanks for your time!

Even when going to failure, for an incline DB bench press, it should be possible to bring the weights to your lap.

I watched in horror the other day as a guy was doing flat DB bench press, and started tapping his feet near the end, and his iPhone started slowly working its way out of his pocket and looked just about to fall, when he finished and caught it.

I don't listen to my own music at the gym, just because earphone cords are such a pain in the ass. Maybe there are bluetooth ones on the market?

I don't listen to music while doing resistance as the cords just get in the way, but when I do cardio I do. Have my phone in an armband the whole time so there's no need to worry about it :D

One of my pet hates is people who leave their phones lying around in the gym.

I am always tempted to drop a plate or stand on one rather than having to dance round them.

To the OP. Does your home insurance cover it? If you have accidental damage cover on your home contents insurance, give it a shout!! ;)

I've worked out with my iPhone in my pocket since 2007 but I've always used InCase sliders and I've avoided any damage from weights and dumbbells.

You know, I must applaud you OP for not losing your S*** over this, because if this were me, and I had no Accidental Home Insurance, I would be really pissed, & Being female that's probably 10+ times more than the average male. So around 2+ months of extreme moodiness and angst over having to pay out for another one.

This.. I've been reading this thread with amusement but still thinking great kudos to the OP for putting this up.

Fingers crossed your apple store experience tonight ends well (which one is it?).

If it an expensive replacement, consider the mobile insurance next time - still recommend my barclays account - for £6.50pm my phone and my ipad are covered.

At least you'll change something for next time, I'm sure. I had a friend who kept running over her iPhone - fell out of her pocket as she got in the car.. She must have smashed that screen three times before she got a case!

Thank you. Fortunately I'm not a stress head and have to put it off to bad experience!

I do run a Barclays account but have never thought about that option. Think I will now!

I’m m off to Brent Cross at 5pm to plea my story and see what they say. I'm sure they will find it just as amusing as everyone on here, and my fellow colleagues who are fully aware I adore apple's products.

I'm back!!!! £179.00 later and I'm now in receipt of my new iPhone..... Wow

Look after this one!! Barclays additions, if you've got it ring up the insurance people sharp ish, they waiver the no claims period for brand new phones.

I just want to thank you for being honest and not saying it "spontaneously" bent.
Sorry that that it happened.
