For those who are advanced and handle their own installations often, I am sure you know how to do this.
But for those who are either new to mac or new to reinstalling, if you want to do a fresh install of the special build from a external device, this is probably the best way to retrieve the image if you want to go through with it.

The link will show how to reveal the "Recovery HD" partition becuase it is typically hidden. Then from disk utility, you just create an image on an external disk (e.g. usb flash drive, external hard driver,...).
