2nd trade is good. Depending on how much you value itunes gift cards, you're getting ripped off on the first imo

I have no idea what an iPad 2 is worth. However, if you are going through all of those steps to ultimately end up cashing out, would it not be more efficient to simply sell your iP2 and be done with it?

$250 is high retail for the used iPhone 4. I'd definitely take it. The iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 are close to equal value. I would trade straight across.

You're losing value on the iPad 2 trade. Why don't you sell your 4 for $250 and since you already have $140 that's enough to buy a used 4S.

If you have a 4, don't you have an upgrade available soon? If you do, you can buy a 4s for $100 on contract, sell the 4 for $200-225, and make money on the deal all while keeping the iPad.

Recently sold my old iPhone 4 on eBay for AUD$280 (approx USD$291), even though I clearly stated it had some issues (no vibrate was the biggest one) it didn't stop people bidding far past the original reserve! I'm sure the OP could probably get a bit better than $250 depending on the condition of the phone.

That first trade is a terrible deal for you, ipad for iphone straight out with $50 cash.

Fair price on the iphone I guess but I sold a 16GB for that price

You will always get more from eBay, the only issue is once it's sold you have to pay all the extra profit back to eBay in fees. Then they hold your funds for a while.
