Sending/Receiving Text from my Computer?

Is there a way that I can send and receive texts from my comp and it'll send it from my number to other phone numbers?

for example on android I heard about this app called MightySMS that lets you do that, is there anything similar for the iPhone?

edit: I have a Windows 7 PC.
