Where is the serial number stored?

If you change it yourself! You will be a special cd (only use for tech and genius) that rewrite serial number into the new one!

He is talking about replacing his logic board and rewrite the serial number! Im sure if he nows how to replace it there is no doubt he knows how to look it up in his mac! Lol

Click on the little black Apple logo on the top left hand corner on your screen. Then click on 'About This Mac', which is the first item on the drop down menu; at the bottom of 'About This mac', you should see a button which says, 'More Info'. Click on that, and it'll bring up all the data about your computer, including the serial number.
