Naked iPhone 5..

I have yet to use a case, just a vinyl wrap around the antenna. Did this for my 4 as well and had no damage. Just have to be careful.

Yes there is a way. I sold my iPhone 4S on Gazelle for $380 and it was never in a case and it was in perfect condition. My iPhone 5 is naked as well and no problems. You just have to be careful with it.
I don't have case but I have a pouch to carry around it but when I use it I use it naked no scratches
I'm very very careful.
I also wear a seatbelt in the car and helmet when I ride.
So... you actually disassembled the phone and put vinyl wrap around the antenna? Why?
I have a clear case on mine. You can see it in all it's beauty but stays scratch free
which case are you using? In some clear cases I hate when dust starts to build up inside the case, thats drives me crazy !

Yes... but you said you put the wrap around the antenna. The antenna is inside the phone. Why would you take apart the phone and wrap stickers around the antenna?

Yep.... on the 4 and 4S. NOT on the iPhone 5.
EDIT: What do you think the little glass windows on the top and bottom of the iPhone 5 are for? The back is metal except for those 2 spots... that is to allow cellular signals to be received.
It started out as a joke. He said he wrapped the carbon fiber around his antenna... so I teased him about disassembling his phone. But then I realized that he did not know the difference in iPhone 4/4s and iPhone 5 design... so at this point I am merely educating him... not giving him a hard time.
I've dealt with scratches on the screen and dings from drops and more over multiple generations of iPhone.
The closest I've gotten to a case is using sticker skins on the back of the phone.
I'm pretty rough on my phones and yet some of the times I end up getting them replaced by Apple just before I sell it off and get a new one. I think you just get used to the wear and tear, and accept it is part of using the phone.

I used to covet my apple products and protect them from harm at every turn. I realized it's a beautiful piece of hardware but it's meant to be used. My black iPhone 5 is naked and already has a few battle scars and looks badass. Apple's hardware is built with quality materials that protect the internal components yet everyone treats them like a Fabergé Egg as you said.
