My god man, you're complaining that a USED phone is now going for retail value which you probably only paid $200 for which means a $450 profit? People will complain about anything. What, did you expect $1000 for it?

The regular retail price is $699+tax though... A lot of BNIB now is sold for $600

not sure about what happens in the States, but here in Canada BNIB sealed iPhone 5 are selling for $600, and used ones are sold for $500..

I think as more people get their hands on the iPhone 5 and as supply catches up, it's of course going to sell second hand for less because the people willing to pay tons of extra for it already have it.

there was a time that you got maybe 70-80% back on the sale of apple products, now it's close to 50-60% it seems

That and more people are getting their hands on it to sell it. More on the market means more competitive prices.
