True, but for two handed use the retina iPad weight is ok. I fully acknowledge the advantages and attractiveness of the iPad mini, but battery life on both iPads is great. I mean, who actually uses an iPad 10 hours a day...? If you charge it overnight, you've got plenty of battery life on all iPads, no matter what.Which is the reason the retina ipads weight twice as much as the mini. The battery required to achieve those numbers is HUGE!

Battery life is awesome. I don't understand why lots of people think that it only lasts 6/7 hours. On 50% brightness, you get 10+ hours of usage easily.
Just wanted to make this clear to those who are in doubt between mini and retina.
Yup, I'm generally getting 18-22 hours.
Are you talking about Stand by time? Usage of 18-22 hours per one charge is impossible unless u didn't connect to wifi.
No it's quite possible, at half brightness. I have LTE AND Wi-Fi going and manage 16-18 hours.

Nope, that's usage time. I'm sure some of that time is with the screen off, streaming music, etc. but who cares? A laptop can't do that with reasonable battery life.
This is one proof I've posted here - since then it has just gotten better. Last charge was 22 hours use, nearly 4 days of standby and 15% left when I charged it.
