posting those stats tells absolutey NOTHING, since obviously when you're listening to music i.e. with the screen turned off, you can easily get hours and hours of use. And that's why some have 20 plus hours, some have 10.

But let's take this baby to several pages as usual with people wondering how "you get dOUBLE the battery as I do, WTF??!!"

Not in my case. I don't have any music or video on my ipad mini. Then explain to me why i get about 20 hours of usage?

I was at 10 hours and 40 minutes this morning before I mistakenly plugged it in, and still had 42% of battery left. My usage included zero games, music or video watching, but email, web, Pages, Numbers and iPhoto use.

Screen brightness is set at less than 50% and I was mixed in my wifi and LTE usage. This is significantly better than I expected.

I only keep 1GB of music on my iPad, the rest is video, photos & apps. If I need more music, stream my library through my Plex app or Spotify. But I use my iPhone for music mostly.

it varies widely. I'm confused. I recently drained it down to 0 (facetime really make the battery drop quickly, I think I got about 11 hours out of it that time) and after recharging to full I got approximately 7 hours out of it (browsing web) before hitting 50%. That's at around 40% brightness.

I recharged it again after that and it dropped to 90% in less than an hour. Same brightness, just browsing as before.

Still showing 42%. Usage has been mainly web browsing and a hell of a lot of Netflixing.

It all depends on the screen brightness.

I know that for enough people a screen brightness of 30% is more than enough. And that makes the real difference.

Exactly right - a pointless thread, they all have the same battery :/ and yes you can use it with the screen off as a giant iPod touch, or you can play games on it - obviously this will put a different load on the battery. Ether way you are all damaging the battery by letting it run down low repeatedly in the first place.

screen brightness does seem to have more of a effect on battery life with the mini more than the ipad 3. at least in my uses
