So, Youtube tells me, to optimize my video upload, I should try to export the video from iMovie to Quicktime Movie and adjust the encoding Options.

But my iMovie won't allow me to adjust those options (I guess I have to buy a new version or something). It will, however, allow me to export the video directly to FLV.

So, in that case, is it better to export it to a Quicktime .mov without tweaking the encoding options, or to export it to a .flv? (since that's the format youtube uses, right?)

Which version of iMovie are you using? You say that iMovie won't let yu change the options. Are they greyed out or don't they appear? What do you see when you try to export to Quicktime?

In other words, more information please.
