That's not true for current Mac notebooks. That only applied to older Macs with removable batteries, which retained up to 80% health for 300 cycles. New built-in batteries are designed to retain up to 80% health for up to 1000 cycles.

I guess that guide I found is pretty out of date.

Pretty much all the time, only plug it in overnight... So far, 13 days using my new mid-2012 cMBP, I discharged my battery 10 times;) I'm not even worrying about, yet... I'll probably get Applecare before the one year warranty expires, if my battery charge sucks later on.

Still have 97% to 98% after 2.5 Years

My first Mac was an early 2010 17" MBP. I have about 375 cycles on it and I do run it down to about 10% before I fully recharge it. I fully discharge it once a month to recalibrate the battery meter. According to Coconut Battery, I am still getting between 97-98% of it's designed capacity. Not bad at all!

29 cycles (I went through 4 cycles this week!)

I'd say not much.

p.c. convert this year, I charge to full capacity when possible

then run on battery until last 20% or lower

I have found the thunderbolt -hdmi cable to t.v. runs the battery down VERY quickly even when watching less than 2 hours t.v.
