APC Smart-UPS SMX1000 OK to use with MacPro?

I have the settings set exactly the same.

And I still get the "Popping" noise when the Mac starts/wakes up.
What do I do now?
Is there anything that has to be done or is this how this unit is supposed to behave when a MacPro draws from it?

Mine idles at 37% load and is giving now about 30min on battery.

When I was on the phone with the last rep they didn't really know what to tell me about the noise. It looks like I will have to get a another rep (or two or three) on the phone to see if anyone there will be able to figure this one out.

An officially refurbished unit from APC would be an acceptable compromise given you didn't buy it new from APC.

Yes there is still an APC warranty until 2013 and they were not hesitant about replacing it if necessary.
From everyone I have gotten on the phone there, they have all been very helpful. Excellent service.
