The worst thing a software company can do is to announce when a product will be ready. If they release it and there are issues, someone will join Forstall and Williamson.

my apologies, you sound like you were working there recently. if so, i hope you're damn right. despite what you say, i still think its bad, and unacceptable, to inform us at the last minute. how about they be more transparent, that would earn my respect more than disappointing us.

Transparency has never been the apple way, and if they were so secretive do you think people like us would be so worked up in forums? :p

Love it, this iTunes 11 is a big step forward. Now update artwork sizes too :)

Every single person complaining in this thread about a potential delay would be back here moaning if it was released before it was ready.

Just accept that it will be released when the developers are happy with it and your experience will be better.

On my Windows 7 PC, it take about 30 seconds for iTunes to load. Has to be one of the worse pieces of software Apple has ever built. I'm crossing my fingers on this "overhaul".

For me about three seconds to launch and about five seconds to start taking input. Windows 7 x64 on an SSD.
