Why is it that people cannot watch 1080p videos on the new iPad - specifically on YouTube? Is it essentially the same thing as 720p?
Thanks in advanced.
Thanks in advanced.
You can't? I always thought you could as 1080P is 1920x1080 and the new iPad has a resolution of 2048x1536..
If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.
- I think the mobile site of YouTube on Safari allows 1080P, but not the apps - again correct me if I'm wrong.
OP is correct, the 1080p option is missing, even on videos that are known to be 1080p capable on the PC.
Could you tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on an ipad?
Yes. While neither is pixel for pixel with iPad retina display, there is a very noticeable difference between 720P and 1080P, especially viewed using a retina-class display.
Would you happen to have an example of this i.e. movie or video Youtube, Videmo.com that really screams 1080p? Not that I'm doubting you its just that I have yet to notice or even pay attention to any differences and or knew if I was actually watching one for that matter.
I did have to go in and change my download preferences to 1080P first though. Otherwise it defaults to 720P.
How do you do that ?
Get Mctube pro, if its still free. the app only steam highest resolution video.
If my Ipad 2 can watch 1080, then yours can too.
Pretty sure you're not actually watching those videos at 1080p on your iPad 2. You may have selected that option, but the iPad 2 has a resolution of 1024x768.
Not a tech specialist here but according to
http://www.apple.com/ipad/ipad-2/specs.html
specs said that it can handle up to 1080p video, i tried both 720p and 1080p video and 1080p has bigger mb when downloaded using MCtube pro.
Yes, you're downloading the 1080p file, however the screen itself cannot display past 1024x768
So Ipad 2 can display more than 720p but not up to 1080P?
i feel like the 1080p file i downloaded, has better qaulity compare the 720p i put in my ipad.
