Woo! Best news I've heard in a long time.

I don't agree with this. iOS so far is only good for COMICS, games, movies, music and web. I want mobile productivity. Unfortunately I'm going to have to go back to windows for that. MS is not there yet but when they are I'll be switching back.
Right now the ipad compliments your laptop and PC. I want it to replace it some day.
Technology has to move forward or you will be left behind again Apple.
Ive is staring me into submission. I almost feel obligated to go buy an Apple product now.
I wonder why there is no Microsoft Office app?Yup, agreed. Needs to have more professional/simple apps and software that help students and business professionals like microsoft office ect.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's Jony!Jony has done a remarkable job leading our hardware design, so lets also have Jony responsible for the software and the look and feel of the software, not the underlying architecture and so forth, but the look and feel.
Plus none of us would have the iOS on their phones. And Apple wouldn't make half of their money from selling iOS devices. If it wasn't for Scott Forstall none of us would know what the word skeuomorphism means. And for that we should all be truly grateful.
I assume that you are not male either?
There are many talented people that don't get to make it to the top. And NO, diversity doesn't "just happen".
Besides I was simply making an observation.
Face it, without Steve Jobs (half Syrian, half Swiss) those talented people wouldn't even be working at Apple today since it would have gone belly up 12 years ago.
The "talented" people that took over Apple and kicked Jobs out ran the company into the ground.
Well you took entirely the wrong meaning from what I said, which is to be expected I suppose on this sort of touchy topic. Are you saying diversity should take priority over talent and skill? IMO the only factor that should be considered are whether or not that person can be a valuable asset to the company (or school or whatever the topic of discussion may be). Race and gender shouldn't be a part of that discussion.
Jobs saved Apple -- not because he's half-Syrian and half Swiss, but because he was a very hardworking individual.
Yup, agreed. Needs to have more professional/simple apps and software that help students and business professionals like microsoft office ect.
File explorer, yes. Shouldn't need a Jbreak for that. Tried Android as well, seems like Windows phone(s) are the way to go for people needing this type of software? It needs a proper file system where you can open files with any app you choose and "Explore" your files. This is the only thing holding it back.
Even if they dedicated a specific section of the memory fore those files it would work.
Don't say the cloud because the cloud sucks until all devices have 3G-LTE and its dirt cheap. Also I want to change icons and have live icons. The date not being in the calendar icon really got on my nerves when I tried the Android OS for a while.
Frankly, I don't blame Forstall for NOT signing that lame apology letter. He would have been forced out anyway so why should he do a public humiliation on top of it?
Apple Maps is pretty good. Yes there were a few problems but that's to be expected. It was senior management's decision to sever ties with Google Maps and rush out a new product. Then Eddy Cue fires the manager in charge of Apple Maps. Heads must roll I suppose.
Apple seems like a pretty political place right now, people jockeying for position and throwing enemies under the bus. Looking at those photos, diversity does not exist anywhere near the reigns of power.
I just hope that in the post-Jobs era, under Tim Cook, Apple manages to continue being successful.
Maps in iOS 6.0 absolutely blows. And that is my gentile way of saying it.
We don’t subscribe to the vision that the OS for iPhones and iPads should be the same as Mac.
I like this.
Ive looks none too happy.

Lots of people disagree with you. I've used it and it certainly doesn't "blow". Many people DO like directions and the fly over view. Just because you don't doesn't mean that the whole thing is a pos. Maybe to you, and you're entitled to your opinion though.
Some people get so worked up over nothing.
Besides when Google relases it's iOS maps app, you can be happy again.
Or maybe Craig is the odd man out. He is the only one with visibly gray hair.
Cook goes on to highlight Eddy Cue's expertise in services, Jony Ive's design skills, Bob Mansfield's experience with silicon and wireless, and Craig Federighi's history of overseeing the underpinnings of both OS X and iOS. Cook is careful to note, however, that this increased collaboration is not working toward a merger of iOS and OS X as some have speculated.

Ive talked to many other CEOs who look at me like I have three heads when I talk about getting hundreds or thousands of customer e-mails in a day. Its a privilege. Its like youre sitting at the kitchen table. Youre a part of the family. And we have to continue to honor that.
So do I.
My worst nightmare was that Apple would do a Microsoft and try and combine their mobile OS with their desktop OS.
Untrue - pretty sure it's been there in iOS on the iPad since the original version.
Yeah because the Maps experience is just fantastic.
Yeah because the iOS App store experience is just fantastic.
Yeah because sorting app reviews to read some of the more honest negative reviews experience is just fantastic.
