Anyone else in GR noticing faster speeds today? I've run a handful of tests and have been getting just under 7 Mbps down and a little over 1 up (which isn't anything to write home about). I'd previously gotten between 2 - 4 with the iPhone 4S and the 5 prior to today.

I'm testing downtown, at Grandville and Oakes.

A friend over in Detroit reported 14.96 down and 7.92 Up last week.

That would not be LTE as it would be 30+ mbps (with a good signal) and it would actually say LTE instead of 4g. I think they simply upgraded the backhaul resulting in the higher speeds.

Yeah, that may be the case. 7 is better than I was getting so I guess I shouldn't complain about that.

I've gotten really good speeds in Detroit lately. You can tell that they're working in it :) ImageUploadedByTapatalk1349704828.519026.jpg

Nah, Its due to many people returning their ATT iphone 5 for Verizon. :)

Couldn't resist.

To me, the faster speed is the only advantage that VZW has and to get that I'm going to have to pay a few hundred dollars more a year. For my money, that's not worth it. It won't me much of an advantage when LTE is live in the area.

Noticed the same. I was getting a good 5 to 6 down last week. Up was about 1.5 or so. Wonder if they improved the network prior to Art Prize? BTW...cell service was terrible during Art Prize...it was like being at a sporting event. Little to no data and very difficult to receive or make calls.

I am seeing dramatically faster "4g" speeds on AT&T in Boston today. My guess? It's not a real improvement - just a lot of people not at work and not using their phones much because of the holiday. Hope I'm wrong, but it makes sense.

Checked on my way home from work...this is the fastest I've experienced when testing the AT&T HSPA+ network in GR. Not bad.

My LTE was very nice when I had VZW, but when I was out of LTE, the 3G was absolutely horrid. The fake 4G here is nice and the 3G is still decent with AT&T now. They have 27 more days to turn on LTE in Lehigh Valley, PA, and then I can see how it compares with VZW's. :D

Finally Here!

Well my phone says LTE this morning but I'm not impressed with the speeds. I've run a handful of tests and the avg speed is under 11 down and .5 up. When I was in the Detroit area over Thanksgiving I had a test at 51 up and 18 down. I've actually had faster speeds in GR months ago.

For those of you in GR and that care, I'm at Oakes and Grandville downtown, right by the arena.

I'm patiently waiting in Kalamazoo for LTE. At least our iPhone 5's are on HSPA+ and are twice as fast on 4G then the 3G HSPA our iPhone 4's were getting.

My wife's 4 was not eligible for the subsidized price until January 2013. On Black Friday, AT&T had their $99 16Gb Refurb. iPhone 5 Sale, went to the website, logged into our account, checked the box to upgrade her phone, and she got the Refurb. 16Gb Black iPhone 5 for $99 + tax! Thank you AT&T for allowing the upgrade 2 months early! I have a white 64Gb iPhone 5 that was received on launch day.

I'm running 6.1 beta 3 on mine, its fast!!! Looking forward to the public release, this beta expires on Dec. 28, so we should see either a new beta or an official release, in the next 2-3 weeks.

Yes much to my surprise my iPhone is also showing LTE. Noticed it this morning. Only getting 7Mbps/.29Mbps. I'm hoping they are still testing and tweaking. I also noticed that making a phone call the phone jumps back to 4G and when done then LTE comes back.

It's on in Holland too. I'm getting around 13 Mbps on my iPhone, but only 4 Mbps on my ipad. It just switched o LTE fom 4G a few minutes ago.

This was just now, on my way back home from work. This test was ran in the Standale area, from my car. It will degrade quite a bit with your signal, however.

I wish I got even half that here in Holland, but I didn't even know we were getting LTE at all, so I guess I can't complain. But if its no faster than the 4G, what's the point?

typically speaking the upload on lte is were you see a huge increase.

some hspa+ will download 20-30mbps.. but the upload is still at 1-3mbps.
Typical LTE is 30-50 mbps down
the upload is ually 10-30 mbps.

I live in a good area and average 50/25

I'm getting about 7 mbps down, 20 mbps up in Grand Rapids. Tried with multiple server locations.

Around 60th and East Paris I'm getting about 30 down and 4 up which is much faster than my home Internet.
