Cool! So jealous! I know you already unboxed it and everything, but make an unboxing video or a quick review on youtube. Pretty sure you'd be the first consumer out there :) By the way what specs did you get?

While I understand why some folks like unboxing videos, I just don't care for them. I want to experience the unboxing and have it be my own experience, not something I've seen someone on youtube do already. That's pretty nerdy in its own right, I know. Unboxing of an Apple product is the beginning of the "personal" touch and experience for me.

As for youtube videos, I like to see hands on product reviews.

It's the same. The resolution has never changed for 27" models. The new one has less glare and apparently looks more vivid but the resolution is the same.

Initial impressions even turned off side by side the new one has noticeably less glare. With black glossy powered off screen I can see about 20% of my reflection whereas my 2009 model looks like a mirror.

I'm going to be clearing my desk and giving it a good wipe-down ahead of receiving mine. So will likely do an unboxing to remember it by :D

As said above it came in brown box just got it opened. Will be transferring all software then moving to recording studio by tomm.

The 27" seems to have a serious flaw...

They seem to be stuck at a 90 degree angle. :)

I had a 27" iMac (with a custom configuration) ordered way back in mid September, but by then it was too late since Apple stopped making them, and they only had stock ones. so i had to wait a long time untill i could update my order with the new iMacs, and im not sure if i will get it before 2013

What can I say? Congrats, you just flushed something like 800$ into the toilet because of not buying two 32gb RAM kits for those macs from 3rd party brands and installing it yourself in 3 minutes.

He's already getting the $1300 SSD. He goes on the "money to burn" list. :p

Well, you know, at least 1300$ SSD is something understandable - some people do need that SSD capacities and don't want to avoid a warranty after DIY installations. But 2x600$ for RAM which is user-accessible and can be replaced in a minute?

I would like to know how noticeably better the screen resolution is on the new iMac over the older versions.

the screen resolution is exactly the same...the difference is the the reduction in glare supposedly.
