Now that Google has unleashed it's free Maps app... will you be using it as your go-to navigation app? Or will you stick with Apple maps?

Yes. Now that I know you can do turn-by-turn voice navigation even from the homescreen and lockscreen, it's an absolute yes.

I'm sticking with Apple Maps.

Use Apple Maps for over 2 months without getting lost.

I used Google Maps for about 1 week on my Note 2 and already got wrong directions.

I prefer the Apple Maps & Siri integration when I'm driving.

Oh this is a really good point: iPhone 4 and 3GS users now get turn-by-turn in Maps. Apple's foolish for leaving that out.

That's right... now you get free turn-by-turn.... now you don't need to upgrade! :p

Yup.

I'll upgrade when my iPhone 4 either breaks, apps don't support it, or it doesn't support iOS 7. My 2 year contract actually allowed me to upgrade in Oct but meh...specially also with rumors of iPhone 5S coming in June.

I think I'll wait and enjoy Google maps.

Google knows where I live. Apple thinks I (and most of my community) live in the middle of the woods.

Now, if only I could have Google back as the stock maps so I could once again use location based reminders, Find My ___, or my 3rd party apps.

It'll be tough weaning off waze for it's traffic (and point system:D), but I will probably start to run waze in the background with no directions set up and use Google for navigation.

Lol now even my 3GS has turn by turn navigation, quite nice than Google manage to implement it in a nearly 4-year old phone.

Although I don't have a car. XD

You can use it when someone else drives you and needs directions :)

This is now my navigation folder. Apple Maps work pretty well here, so I'll continue using that until I run into a problem. Google Maps is the follow-up :)

Not for turn-by-turn as I have the full TomTom app. But for POI searching and general mapping yes Google Maps is my go-to. Apple Maps has been banished to the last page of my home screen.

Apple Maps has worked perfectly for me so I'll be sticking with that. But I'll keep Google Maps around.

In India, you cant even try to compare both the maps. You can say that Apple maps is just there as an icon with no data. I mean what was apple even thinking while making maps. I dont wanna state the obvious again and again.

But after google maps, you can say that i will start using my iPhone for directions. Earlier it wasnt just possible with Apple maps.

I find the interface of the new Google Maps app to be clunky and weird. I liked the old iOS 5 one better.

But at least it's accurate, unlike Apple Maps. So I'll probably use it until Apple Maps improves.

I agree, though having played with it a bit it's growing on me. It's slightly more crowded, so you don't get quite as much info on the screen. But on the flip side I'm now going to buy an iPhone 5, so I should get that back :D

Dropping pins and going into street view is much easier and nicer than on the old version though, as is the ability to save locations. Overall I'm very, very happy

"Icon with no data" haha, I like the way you describe it :D
