I thought this would be a poll question, but alas it wasn't. I'm 29, I have an iPhone 5 (black, 32GB, AT&T) and I pay the bill with my own money. It's about $105, since there is one additional line; but it isn't a smartphone. Only option I have besides unlimited text is Smart Limits ($4.99)

Old. 4S. Parents pay the bill because I don't get mail in their basement.

I'm 12, I have an iPhone 5, and mommy and daddy pay my phone bill

You joined MR at 4 years old?!?

Apparently I'm old, relative to most who have stated their age here.

I have a black 16 GB 4S.

Yup, been paying my own phone bill (and then some) for about as long as yg17's been alive.

Company pays my iPhone 4; don't know how much. Some corporate rates.
Still need to convince my boss and boss-boss that I urgently need an iPhone 5. Home-button really get bad.

26. iPhone 5. I pay my own bill, it's around $160 a month as my hubby has an iPhone 4 on the account as well.

iPhone 5 = me
iPhone 4s = wife

been paying my own bill since before smartphones existed.

We actually went to Verizon many years ago and they said if we broke onto our own account (off of our respective parents accounts) we could get ne2 pricing -- and my phone was in bad shape. After 4 hours of work, they get us on our own accounts and problem... we aren't eligible for Ne2. I could have broken every device in the store I was so mad. THEN it ends up costing us way more $$ per month.

Moral of the story -- never get off of your family plan. Just pay your parents the difference for your line. It's cheaper.

Age: Second half of life.

I plan to live well into my hundreds, so second half of life would be at least 55 for me.

I am still in my first half of life, I have 2 iPhones on my account 2GB data each and pay $118 a month. I am thinking about removing text plan to save another $30+ a month. Most text come iMessage or email now.
