I have a buyer willing to pay 50% of what I purchased my iPad 2 14 months ago. Good deal?

Thanks,

Dan

You should be able to do a bit better than that if it's in good shape. What model/type is it? I got about 65% for an ATT 16 gig a few weeks ago. But I priced it to move quick on CL and it was gone within a day.

I think trade-in and used prices for iPads have dropped substantially in the past few days, as most people have made their Christmas purchases. The money that people got for their old iPads just a month ago is no longer there. I traded in my iPad 2 32GB wifi to Amazon for $345 in mid-November - now the maximum they'll pay is $208.

This is not a good time to sell or trade - it might be worth holding onto it for a month or so if you can, and you might get another $50 - $100 for it. On the other hand, I think the cellular iPads don't hold their value quite so well as the wifi versions (smaller market), so 50% of the value seems pretty reasonable to me.

Well the iPad 2 new was $499 plus another $129 for the 3G makes it $630 and 50% of that comes out to $315. I'd say that's a more than fair deal for a 16GB. Use the money on some last second gifts!

50% reduction in price for just a little over a year's use? No thank you. Demand for the wi-fi+cellular model iPads are a little bit flatter compared to wi-fi only model iPads -- just remain patient, and someone will offer you a much more reasonable price.
