How do you permantly delete contacts on iphone 5. So if at one time you had someone stored and you go to compose a new text they come up (Like how if you emailed someone before it auto populates them). Does anyone know how to delete that?
i know that!! After you delete them and then compose a new text it is still there. Basically you know when you send an email to someone and do not store them it still auto popualtes their name. This is what happens with my phone. Any ideas?
And this is what's underneath it all--it's not really about contacts or deleting them, it's about recently used numbers/emails/etc. which are actually different and separate from contacts.Somewhere, iOS stores recently referenced addresses. I forwarded some SMS to SPAM (7726) and even though I don't have a contact entry for 7726, it shows up as a suggestions as soon as I type "7" in the To field. I have no idea where iOS stores this information however, or how to get rid of it.
i do not sync with FB. It could be from the icloud. not too sure how to check. maybe ill run to the apple store and see if someone there knows. if not its not the end of the world

The same thing happens to me, but it doesn't require deleting a contact. When I delete/replace a contact's number, the Messages.app still autocompletes the number with the contact's name and references it as "other".
