i understand that battery health fluctuates over time or is not at 100%. my battery health is 91% with 104 cycles with 7775 for max capacity. my capacity was never near the 8400 design capacity. i just hope it stays near 90% for a while. at 80% the battery is replaced and i hope that is years from now not months.

you have the same retina macbook pro that i have, what is your current capacity?
coconutBattery has had a history of being inaccurate, particularly with the Age of your Mac reading. Also, it's based on when it was made, not the date of purchase.
You can get most of this battery information by doing a system report/Power under "about my Mac" instead of installing another program...
i did. it is very useful information. my concern is my battery capacity is 7800 and its not going up. it goes from 90% to 94% never more. i dont think even brand new was 100%.
the threads on here where people post there coconut battery generally are near 100% on newer machines or are older and have poor health. are there any other people like me with low 90s. by reviewing alot of posts it seems to me like a large portion have very healthy batteries. is this by chances?
It's not uncommon for a battery to be less than 100%, even when new. You really don't have anything to worry about unless the health drops below 80% before 1000 cycles. Apple usually won't even look at it until it's below 80%. Your battery sounds fine.

Be careful about getting info from batteryuniversity.com or other non-Apple sites, as much of the information there is generic and doesn't apply directly to the battery technology employed by Apple. A better source for battery information is Apple, since they know exactly how their batteries should be treated.
