Hey everyone. At my job I was tasked this past weekend with migrating a location's graphic files (mainly fonts, quark files, artwork, etc) from a Mac server to a Windows server.
Upon setting up the raid on the windows server we began the transfer process (about 550GB of data). Unfortunately, all quark files and fonts lost their extension when transferring. On the windows machine they all show up as a basic "file" with no known extension.
While its pretty easy for the end users to just rename the quark files and add the extension, there are about 900,000 fonts with different formats that they are going to have to work with as well.
Does anyone know of a quick fix or a method of transfer they recommend using to prevent this from happening? We just used terminal to move the root of the folders/files from one machine to the other over the network.
