Problem installing Win7 on new iMac

Hello,

I am the 1tb fusion drive and am installing via attached superdrive.
when the iMac reboots into windows setup, I get to the part where I select the partition.

I get a message that win7 cannot be installed because the partition is not formatted correctly.

I format the partition labeled BOOTCAMP and try to continue.

win7 says it cannot be installed on that partition.

These are the steps I did in the pas on an older iMac with no issues.

After formatting, the label BOOTCAMP disappears.

When you create the Boot Camp partition using the Boot Camp utility in Mac OS, it labels it as "Bootcamp" so that you know which partition to correctly format when installing Windows. You format it because the partition is formatted in MS-DOS and it needs to be NTFS. Just check the disk number to make sure you are selecting the correct partition to install Windows on, after you format it using the install manager. You should be ok afterwards.

I would never use BOOTCAMP ever again, it messed up my system so bad that Carbon Copy Cloner was not even able to restore an image, so I had to do a complete restore! :mad:

I believe I selected the correct partition.
After format, the label BOOTCAMP was gone.

I selected the partition anyways, but windows would continue when I hit next.

When you format the Bootcamp partition then of course the label vanishes as you just wiped it clean and reformatted it for windows.

Just make sure you install windows on the unnamed partition and your fine.

That is normal. You can just rename it yourself when windows has booted.

I checked the partisan and am sure it is the correct one.
Windows says it cannot find a valid partisan.

I tried this several times and am about to return this iMac for an RMBP which I had prior to my new iMac and had no issues.
