And the note 2 thanks to its lightweight design is very easy to handle. Also it fits in pockets without a problem. In fact at work I put a note and a GS3 and an ipod touch with my keys in my pocket. With just the note and GS3 no bulge.
Now the lg intuition on the other hand...
When it comes to how pocket friendly a smartphone is, I think the biggest factor is how wide the device is. Depth wise most smartphones are thin enough to fit in most pockets comfortably. The height of the phone also shouldn't be an issue unless you are sporting smaller than average front pockets. But width is the biggest issue if I had to guess. You said the Note II produces no issues but the Intuition does. Here are the widths of 3 huge smartphones:
LG Intuition: 90.4mm (3.56")
Huawei Ascend Mate: 85.7mm (3.37")
Galaxy Note II: 80.5mm (3.17")
Of these 3, the Intuition is the shortest (5.5") and the Mate the tallest (6.5"). The Note falls in-between at 5.95".
Of these 3 smartphones, the Note II is the only one I've handled in person. I'm confident I could fit it in my pocket with no issues (unless I'm sporting a pant/short with smaller than average pockets). I'm not so sure about the Intuition and Mate.
