I've just played with the new Nokia 920..and I find myself strangely attracted to it...like Nicole kidmans bottom....red brake callipers on a yellow Ferrari ....I've been an avid iPhone apple man since 1990....please help curb my fetish desire to purchase a luminar 920...please apple make the iPhone 6 soon with the screen size of a 920, girly bold colours like an iPod....or just shoot me !

It seems like the two people before me said both things that I wanted to say.

Anyway, to the OP: why not just buy a Lumia 920? It won't kill you to try another phone if you like it. And don't worry, we won't ban you from Apple products if you do.

Go buy it! It's pretty good. Though you might miss some of the Apps you have with your iPhone as the Windows Phone market isn't as great as the Appstore. The Marketplace though has 140K Apps which is not bad so I'm sure you'll be able to find an alternative to your app.

I see no problem with having multiple devices !

Use the alternative to iOS and iOS devices forum board to discuss your findings on it too !

I tried one for a week. Then promptly exchanged it for my current iPhone.

I had a similar experience with the GS3, but got a refund instead.

If you want to try something different, go ahead. But, what I learned was there's no better mobile device than the iPhone.

I like the 8x better. I have one right now on my tmobile line. Pretty nice except for the lack of apps on the Windows store. 8x feels nice in the hand.

OP, I think you should try it out. If you don't like it you can always sell it and come back to iOS.

The 920 is an excellent device. Its screen is super easy to see outdoors, it has a really loud speaker, and takes pretty nice pics at night.

HTC 8x: 132,35 x 66,2 x 10,12 mm, 130 grams
Lumia 920: 130,3 x 70,8 x 10,7 mm, 185 grams
iPhone 5 w/ Otterbox: 135.12 x 69.9 x 16.18 mm, 226 grams

Lumia 920 could be too big and heavy for small girls, maybe consider 820 instead: 123,8 x 68,5 x 9,9 mm, 160 grams
Yes, its heavy too and may break your house if dropped on the floor.

Since this became an 8x vs 920 thread...

8x pros:
thinner/lighter
better battery life in real world use

920 Pros:
Exclusive software (most of the useful stuff ties into the camera)
Arguably best camera on the market
Larger storage capacity (32gb vs 16gb)
Wireless charging (Verizon version of the 8x has this, but we aren't speaking verizon)
Free wireless charger (if purchased on contract)
Nokia customer care said to rival that of Apple (still inferior since they don't really have stores to just bring your product to, but they are supposedly really helpful and accommodating over the phone.
Price: cheaper both on and off contract (retail)

Some people praise the 920 for its camera. I don't. It's one reason the phone is so damn big.

On iOS, photo apps accomplish image stabilization by using on-board sensors leaving the phone to be as thin and light as possible.

Not to mention there are a lot more photo apps on iOS. A lot more. A whole lot more.

Not true. The whole warranty process with Nokia is atrocious compared to Apple's service.

The only reason to get a Lumia 920 is for Nokia Drive IMHO. The camera may be very good at low-light conditions but thats it. For everything else. The iPhone's camera is equal or superior.
