Ever since Ive upgraded to 6.1, it seems like my battery life got worst on my iPhone 5. Anyone else think so?

I have a brand new 4S that came with 6.0. I upgraded it to the latest when I got home last night. Went to work and the first four hours, the battery stayed at 100%. 6.5 hrs later, it's at 83%. Mine seems about normal to me compared to the previous 4S I used to have.

I read the long multiple-page version of the other 6.1 battery life thread, general consensus is that 6.1 is slightly better than 6.0.2 for iPhone 5. I don't remember what most people felt for the 4S.

You may want to do a restore. Battery life is fine on all my 3 devices running iOS 6.1.

Battery life is terrible on my iPhone 5 since the upgrade to 6.1

I can actually watch the percentage drop if I keep the display on reading. It won't last 5 hours wo a charge. I'm seriously considering going back to android if I can't get this fixed.

Ok maybe not but seriously they need to make these upgrades work so u don't need to restore as new every time there's a new os.

Cheers,

Plug your iPhone into iTunes. On the main screen that comes up it has an option to check for upgrade or restore. Click restore and when it gets done it will ask if you want to restore from a back up or setup as new. Select setup as new. This will wipe everything so make sure you sync as much as you can with iCloud and iTunes so you can sync it back once you’re done. You will lose things like text messages and high scores in some games but it should help the battery. You may also see DFU restores metioned and you can try that as well but usually a regular restore does the trick.

Well, you are getting over 7 hours of usage and still have 8% left. What did Apple specs say, 8 hours?? That's pretty close.

Also, it really depends on what you are doing with your phone. When I stream a radio station on the TuneIn Radio app my i5 will go from 100% to almost dead in 4 hours, but that's because that particular app is a battery HOG.

If it's just normal usage, which I would say is calls, texts, some internet, some games, twitter and facebook.....then around 8 hours is "normal".

QUICK THERE'S A NEW VERSION START A THREAD ABOUT HOW YOUR BATTERY HAS BEEN NEGATIVELY AFFECTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or it could be, you know, perfectly normal.

I'm having the opposite problem.

6.1 is causing the plasma field that surrounds the iphone to generate a tachyon beam every five seconds. My iPhone is charging itself and may go into warp any minute, HALP!

Three bars in your wireless is going to chew through the battery faster than five. The radio will increase the gain (power) to maintain signal, same goes for your WiFi.

Felt like my iPhone 5 had a drop in battery life after 6.1, but I ran the battery down to 0% yesterday and now I'm getting better results than I can remember getting on 6.0.

My 4S seemed worse the first day I updated.

But after running the battery down until shut off and charging it fully, my battery is amazing.

Right now im at 2.5 hours standby and 40 minutes of use and still at 100%.

Battery on both iPad 3 and iPhone 5 were horrible on 6.1. Finally tried hard boot with power and home button depressed until restart and all the battery problems ended. Ymmv but that fixed it for me.

Cheers,
