Am I seeing the curvature of the Earth in this photo I took or is it just me?
No, it's just that your horizon line is sloping up to the right.
You beat me to it!
Harry the Herdwick and chum...
One of the first shots with my new personal D800 (had one at my old job since launch). Great to finally have this 36mp behemoth for my personal projects now.

Nice work! It seems that the good old 50mm lens gets ignored sometimes but the limited depth of field wide open can be useful tool.
Nice camera isn't it? I am enjoying mine too!

Determination
The title of the shot: "Determination"...is that yours, the owl's or both?
I like the overall scene, but I'm not a fan of the harsh shadows from the lighting. I find myself wishing for softer lighting here. Note that I'm hardly an expert in lighting, but I have been reading and taking training classes on this sort of thing, so it has made me more aware of stuff like this.
On the road to Death Valley California...
Is this shot a panorama or cropped? If cropped does it look tiny in the frame when shooting?
