What is something weird you would spend money on if you were instantly rich tomorrow?

For me, it would be an actual swimming coach. Having never swam competitively or anything, I have poor form that I'm currently working on. It would be really great to have somebody who knows what they are doing and could really help me out.

I would spend about £20000 on a kees van der westen espresso machine and a stupidly expensive coffee grinder. Thats pretty weird for most people.

Weird? Don't know if it'd qualify as weird. But it'd be an eye surgery to correct my farsightedness. But if it comes down to it, export Starbucks and Pinkberry franchises to Honduras.

Sounds quite sensible to me really.

No :(

I just stared USMS and it sucks getting blown out of the water.

It's probably not the weirdest thing in the world, but I can't recall anybody I have met telling me that's something they would spend their money on.

I would likely do the boring things of paying off my own and my immediate families debt/mortgages. I might buy a few expensive random things for fun, but I dunno. I'm pretty content.

Adrift in a sea of possibilities
I would buy property in the Rocky Mountains, somewhere. Build a smallish, self sufficient house, with an observatory. I would buy the best visual wavelength reflector telescope that I could feasibly own as a private individual, and gaze into the heavens.

Probably buy a maxxed out 27" iMac to go along with it, too. :p

Wow, awesome thread. Thanks for the escape!

A few head of sheep, goats, cows, and a small vineyard. I'd love to be a hobbyist cheesemonger and viniculturist.

Is that weird?

Of course I would have to be able to support myself entirely on my sudden wealth.

I'd set up a ministry/foundation office in a mountain town with good broadband, fresh with new Macs and Av Equipment ...oh and a fireplace. Always wanted an office with a fireplace.

Then I'd give the rest away.

A Falcon 7x. Had the chance to be on one flying across the world. Its nearly silent in flight and no air pressure. Its only $60 million and $4 million up keep per year.

Oh! Gas as well?! Cause this sounds like a great idea. No more TSA dealings! No more draconian/medieval baggage fees.... 1st Class all around.

Its about $1800/hr for fuel. Landing fee between $5000-$10000. Hanger fee is included in the $4.

Customs depends on airport. Most cities have private terminals and they come in the plane to check. Its a quick 2 minutes depending on where you came from. One time they didn't even bother and we just took off with the car waiting beside the plane. How I wish to be a billionaire, taking commercial sucks big time now.

Private customs I don't mind. $5k per landing? Uhm, well... cant be helped... gotta land somewhere.
