Hi All,

Ok, I know I'm being picky, but we are using iPad Minis for a very specific purpose and need cases ideal for those who walk around and take pictures.

So, I'm hoping this exists and I just can't find it. but I need something that's a flip cover that stays attached (making into a stand is really not that important), has a pocket for the cable (not too concerned with the power adapter), and when opened does NOT block the rear camera. I'm willing to sacrifice a little protection in the front corner when closed so when opened the rear camera can take pictures.

Having a spot for a stylus would be a plus, but not a deal-breaker.

Anyone know if anything like that exists?

Thanks,

Jeff

I haven't even seen anything like that for the full size iPad, however it probably exists. For the mini though, the case selection is still not that good.

However, my current case setup might work for you.

I have a Smart Cover, as well as one of these: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1533605/
That back case locks the Smart Cover in place, so it's not going anywhere. I embedded magnets into it, so it sticks to the back: https://sugru.com/guides/mod-an-ipad-mini-back-cover-to-keep-the-smartcover-in-place
The thing is that since the Smart Cover consists of three pieces in order to make it into a stand, it's very easy to just fold the last 1/3 of the cover back on itself, exposing the camera:

That's what I do when I use the camera to scan documents, and it works for me, but I can't speak for your usage situation.

For attaching a stylus, this is my solution:
Maglus: https://sugru.com/gallery/make-a-magnetic-maglus-stylus-adapter-band-for-ipad-mini
Wacom Bamboo: https://sugru.com/gallery/make-an-ipad-mini-stylus-holder-band

That leaves the cable... Personally, I'd wait for something designed for using on the go, like this: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2088143118/nomad-lightning-cable-for-iphone-5-and-ipad-mini
