How to Perminantly delete Preview history

Why do i need Preview anyway?

Preview is the default program for viewing and annotating most image files and
PDFs.

This is what i did.Opened Preview>clicked file>opened recent>cleared menu.Then i closed Preview. This did nothing.

Worked OK for me, even without closing Preview.

When i open recent the clear menu is gray

So, you are saying that when you click on Recent Items, you see "clear menu" in grey? That's how it is when you have nothing in the Recent Items. The fact that it is grey means that it's not available to use. As soon as you've opened a file, it becomes black, meaning you can select it.

You can't get rid of it.
